Undergraduate Core Curriculum:
(Mandatory for ALL Degrees)
Personal Evangelism:
A study of the work of evangelism as a function of every
Christian. The student will study various methods of personal
work and learn how to respond to the most common
objections one encounters in evangelistic ministry.
Introductory Courses:
Canada Christian College has established a Department for
Teacher Training, leading towards a BRE degree (Bachelor of
Religious Education) majoring in Teacher Training.
Ministry of Teaching:
A study of the basic principles of teaching and learning with
a focus on teaching and preparing to teach the Scriptures in
a small group Bible study setting such as a Sunday School
class or a cell group.
Methods of Teaching:
A study of various approaches to teaching with an emphasis
on specific methods which have proved effective in
communication.
Christian Education of Children:
This course will consider the characteristics, problems and
needs of children from birth through adolescence.
Leadership, organization, teaching methods, program
planning, worship, missions, evangelism and recreation will
be studied with a view to reaching, teaching, winning and
holding children in the church. A discussion of practical
problems and evaluation of current trends and curriculum in
children’s ministries will be a vital part of the course.
Christian Education of Youth:
This course will consider the characteristics, problems and
needs of children from adolescence through early adulthood.
Leadership, organization, teaching methods, program
planning, worship, missions, evangelism and recreation will
be studied with a view to reaching, teaching, winning and
holding youth in the church.
A discussion of practical problems and evaluation of current
trends and curriculum in youth ministries will be a vital
part of the course.
Christian Education of Adults:
This course will consider the characteristics, problems and
needs of adults in various stages of adulthood. Leadership,
organization, teaching methods, program planning, worship,
missions, evangelism and recreation will be studied with a
view to reaching, teaching, winning and holding adults in
the church.
A discussion of practical problems and evaluation of current
trends and curriculum in adult ministries will be a vital
part of the course including both ministry to single and
senior adults.
Christian Education of Families:
This course will consider the characteristics, problems and
needs of families in various stages of their development from
the birth of the first child through the empty nest syndrome.
Leadership, organization, teaching methods, program
planning, worship, missions, evangelism and recreation will
be studied with a view to reaching, teaching, winning and
holding families in the church.
A discussion of practical problems and evaluation of current
trends and curriculum in family ministries will be a vital
part of the course with a focus of producing a balanced
ministry to families.
Vacation Bible School:
A study of Vacation Bible School as an effective tool to reach
youth for Jesus Christ. This course includes a consideration
of the purpose, planning around a central theme, organizing
personnel and the gathering and correlating of all practical
material needed for all age groups.
Philosophy of Christian Education:
A survey and evaluation of the religious educational
principles and practices throughout various periods of history
with a consideration of current theories of education. The
student is required to formulate a personal philosophy of
Christian education consistent with biblical teaching.
Administration of Christian Education:
A consideration of the administrative principles and practices
involved in developing and maintaining a functional
administrative structure for the educational ministries of a
local church. The course is designed to assist the pastor or
director of Christian education in understanding the nature
of various educational ministries, the aims of this aspect of
church ministry and various methods of administering the
various departments of a church educational program such
as Sunday School.
Developing Lay Leadership:
A postgraduate course examining various approaches to
discipleship and leadership training in the context of a local
church or parachurch ministry. Various specific curriculums
will be examined and strategies for leadership development
considered in light of the specific needs of participants in
the course.
The Christian School:
A course designed to assist the pastor and church in
establishing a Christian Day School and/or Church Day Care
ministry. Included in the course are a consideration of the
legal and educational requirements involved in such an
endeavour and guidance in taking practical steps to
beginning, administering, staffing and recruiting students
for the new school.

Evangelism and Church Growth
Courses:
Christian Evidences:
An examination of the evidences for Christianity and the
Christian faith including the inspiration of the Scriptures and
the incarnation and resurrection of Christ.
How to Start a Church:
A practical study and exercise in planting a new work based
on proven principles. The goal of this course is to give the
student the necessary tools to effectively begin a new thriving
church.
Church Planting:
An examination of the motives and strategies for establishing
a new church with attention given to the practical steps
involved in such an endeavour including registration with
Revenue Canada as a charitable organization and the
preparation of governing documents
Strategies of Church Growth:
This course examines practical issues of evangelism and
church growth in the context of a local church ministry.
Planning, leadership, equipping and mobilizing people in
ministry are each examined in the light of church growth
research as steps toward the goal of planning a local church
growth strategy.
Introduction to Christian Missions:
An introduction to the work of Christian missions worldwide
including a discussion of such issues as the indigenous
church, the use of mission compounds, the role of
missionaries, strategies for funding missionary activities,
short-term mission projects verses career missions and
effective missionary strategies being used today in various
parts of the world. This course is normally taught by Dr.
Ronald Morin in the fall semester.
Cross-Cultural Witnessing:
An examination of the strategies of preaching the gospel in
other cultures including a consideration of how to identify
and overcome cultural barriers to the gospel and how to adapt
the gospel to other cultures without compromising its basic
teachings. This course is normally taught by Dr. Ronald Morin
in the winter semester.
Abrahamic Covenant 1 & 2:
A study of the promises of God to Abraham, the nature of
God’s covenant with Abraham, its ramifications in the
experience of Israel, and its application to the Christian life.
Israelology:
A systematic theology of the biblical teaching regarding the
people of Israel surveying every aspect of Israel’s past,
present and future, from the four major schools of theology.
It provides a systematized biblical doctrine of Israel.
Israelology pioneers a fully dispensational approach to this
topic including issues such as Messiah’s return, evangelism,
anti-Semitism and God’s agenda for Jews and Gentiles alike.
History of Israel:
A complete study of the Hebrew race, nation of Israel and
the Jewish people. Their origination through Abraham; their
establishment as Israelites through the sons of Jacob; their
inheritance in the dividing of the kingdom, their deterioration
and exile; their restoration and ultimate destination according
to prophecies.
The statehood of Israel in 1948, Six Day War in 1967,
agricultural development, restoration of Israel in relation to
the Second Coming of Christ. One of the most exciting and
informative courses ever given to the Jewish people and the
nation of Israel.
