About us

The Toronto Symphonic Chorale (TSC) is a cluster of professional music performers founded in 2004 by Rev., Dr.. Wayne Chai, a celebrated music composer and educator at the Dean of Korean Department, Canada Christian College and School of Graduate Theological Studies

 

The Chorale is made up of 120 volunteered singers musically gifted and auditioned from diverse ethnical communities across the greater Toronto region, along with professional 45 core members of soloists of the Toronto Master Singers(TMS). The Chorale boasts of its magnificent harmony and dynamics purified and culminated in symphonic performance.

 

The repertory of TSC has the wide spectrum – sacred, classical, contemporary, and innovative new works. Particularly, an unique category of choral music that was arranged by Prof. Chai from well known symphonies, variety pieces of instrumental works, and overture of opera,  remaining the original keys and every movement of works unchanged to the choral music.

 

TSC strives to nurture and cultivate the passion for humanity and peace-making to the life of Toronto and world through the chorale culture of high caliber.

 

토론토심포닉함창단은 작곡가이며 교육자로 캐나다크리스챤대학 및 대학원의 한인학부 학장인 채 완수 박사에 의하여 창단된 전문음악 연주자들의 집합체입니다. 토론토지역의 다민족 사회로부터 음악적 재능을 지닌 120명의 자원 봉사자들로 구성된 본 합창단은 중추적인 45명의 토론토메스터싱어스 독창자들과 함께 장엄한 화음과 역동적인 함창음악을 선사하고 있습니다. 종교움악, 고전음악 및 현데창작품, 전위음악에 이르기까지 폭넓은 합창음악의 영역을 개척한 본 합창단은 특별히 채 교수에 의하여 기존에 잘 알려진 교향곡, 각종기악곡 및 오페라 서곡등을 원작곡자의 조성과 전악장그대로 유지하는 합창음악으로 편곡되었읍니다.본합창단은 품격있는 합창문화를 통하여 인류애의 열정과 토론토 및 세게평화를 진작하고 고양하는데 주력합니다.

TORONTO SYMPHONIC CHORALE & TORONTO MASTER SINGERS

is accepting  additional application for the recruitment of its members as below:

 

AUDITIONS - All voices

 

The 120-voice, multi-ethnic, Toronto Symphonic Chorale and its core ensemble, the Toronto Master Singers, under the dynamic leadership of Wayne Chae, offer the unique choral experience of performing transcriptions of some of the great orchestral and piano repertoire. Honoraria are offered to members of the core ensemble; appearances on CTS TV and Miracle TV and international tours are planned.

       

      Position wanted:

      Vocal Soloist, Group Vocal, Undergraduate and Graduate, Major in wind / brass and string instruments. 

                                                                                                                                                         

      Performance Level:

      Major or Minor in Music and be able to take part in the rehearsal without part practice

 

      Characteristics and Special Distinction:

     Chorale boasts of finest vocal soloists of 120 members from

              various ethnical origin. This truly world class chorale is strengthened by the Toronto Master Singers of 45

             core member of  talented vocalists, and performs the symphonic choral which is the world first of its kind

            with   repertoire arranged from the well known orchestral music such as Beethoven Symphony 2^nd of No.3/2^nd

            and 3^rd of No. 5/piano Sonata op.13 “ Pathetique/ Concerto No.4^th/Wagner, opera Overture “ Tannhauser”/

            Debussy, Suite Bergamasque” Moonlight”/Mussorgsky “ Picture at an Exhibition”/Faure, “Pavane”/Verdi,

           Opera “ La Forza del destinao”/Carl Oarf, Carmina Burana/etc.

 

      Benefits and Advantages:

     3) Production support for CD/DVD and Recording 4) Individual support and promotion for

             musical activities through the member networking. 5) Appearing in annual concert and world choral festival

            6) Scholarship and advance credit at enrolment of Canada Christian College. 7) Participation in ethnical folk

            musical   and gala opera 8) Appearing in the Parliament and benefit concert  9) Evangelical World Tour

            10) Support for development and operation of music conservatory and related educational programs

           11) Support and Referral to international performance 12) Appearing in Seoul Chorus Festival

 

      Audition:

     2 pieces of song(Optional) with accompanist If accompanist is not obtainable, the TSC will be able to provide.

토론토 심포닉 합창단원 추가모집

본 합창단에서는 아래와 같은 자격의 음악인들을 추가 모집합니다.

 

v     모집부분:

    성악 솔리스트, 그룹보칼, 관현악 전부분 전공 재학생 및 졸업자.

                                                      

v     자격:

    음악전공 졸업자 또는 비전공자로 파트 연습없이 리허설에 참가 할수있는자.                                                      

 

v     특징:

   45명의 솔리스트 앙상블과 함께하는 120여명구성의  다민족 메머드급 합창단으로 세계최초로 관현악곡을

        교향적 합창곡으로 편곡된 작품들과 독특한 신작품들로  세계무대진출.
