Admission Requirements
The
candidate must complete the two-year curriculum prescribed by Canada Christian College and School of Graduate Theological
Studies, comprising a minimum of 60 semester
hours of credit with a grade point average of
not less than 2.0. Students transferring from other schools may be
granted a maximum of 30 semester hours of credit providing that the work
conforms to the academic standards of this graduate school.
In addition, the candidate must produce an original thesis demonstrating
his ability to perform Biblical and theological research on a scholarly
level.
The thesis is to be concerned with the exegesis of Scripture, employing the
original languages as appropriate, either for the purpose of clarifying the
meaning of some particular term(s) or passage(s) in Scripture; or for the
purpose of clarifying the Biblical evidence relating to some issue(s) of
theological significance. The thesis must contain not fewer than 40 pages of
text material. Approval shall be based on theological content and literary
excellence rather than length.
Thesis Submission Requirements
All graduate and postgraduate students are required to
write a thesis before graduating from their degree program. The following
guidelines have been established to help students in this process.
- To assist in
data collection, the student is strongly advised to take the course
Mechanics of Research early in his/her academic program.
- The thesis
Prospectus is due on or before October 15 the year prior to
anticipated graduation.
- The First
Draft of the thesis document must be delivered to the Mentor on or
before February 15 in the year graduation is anticipated.
- Three copies
of the Final Draft Thesis must be submitted to the Graduate Studies
Committee on or before the April 15 in the year graduation is
anticipated.
- Students will
be provided an opportunity to defend their Thesis findings in late
April.
- Two bound
presentation copies of the thesis must be delivered to the library on
or before May 15. The completed Thesis must be prepared in conformity
with standards defined in the publication “Manual for Writers of Term
Papers, Theses, and Dissertations,” by Kate L. Turabian. This
publication is reviewed in the Mechanics of Research course and it
must be bound according to specifications established by the College
Library.
- Students who have failed to meet these
deadlines will not be permitted to graduate.

Graduation Requirements;

The grant of graduation degree is not
mere accumulation of credits of sum total. For the completion of the
degree, must complete the full academic credits as required by the
program of study, additional courses, and demonstrate good moral
character as well as exemplifying healthy Christian spirit. Additional
courses are required by the curriculum only if your bachelor degree is
not the same as the master program.

Master of Theological
Studies (M.Th.S.)
The Master of Theological Studies is a two-year
graduate program designed to furnish a broad foundation for those entering
the pastorate, missionary service, Christian education ministries, and
other related types of Christian service. To graduate from this program,
you must successfully complete 18 courses and a Thesis.

Master
of Divinity (M.Div.)
The Master of Divinity program provides a basic
three-year curriculum in graduate theological study for those preparing for
a ministry of the work of God. It is designed to furnish a broad foundation
for those entering the pastorate, missionary service, Christian education
ministries, and related types of Christian service. Persons who possess any
Undergraduate Degree from a secular university may also qualify for
admission to this program.

Master of Sacred Music
(M.S.M.)
The Master of Sacred Music program is designed
to equip graduates for competent leadership in church or sacred music in
congregations and other settings.
The primary educational goals include:
- Creating in
the candidate the capacity for constructive theological reflection.
- Creating an
understanding of music theory and history.
- Developing a
competence in an applied music performance area.
- Developing
skill in the conducting and leadership of musical ensembles.
- Gaining knowledge
of church music literature.
- Developing a
capacity to lead a comprehensive program of church music education.
- Fostering
growth in personal and spiritual maturity.
This Program Covers:
Religious Heritage
The program provides basic instruction in Scripture, theology and the
history of the music tradition, including worship, lithurgy and hymnology.
Musical Arts
The program provides graduate level instruction in the various musical arts
and training in performance skill areas. The degree program follows the
guidelines of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Personal and Spiritual Formation
The program provides opportunities through which the student will grow in
personal faith, emotional maturity and moral integrity.
Music Ministry Leadership
The program includes opportunities for students to gain skill as conductors
of musical ensembles and leaders of worship, in supervised ministry
contexts. These opportunities should reflect concern for the relationship
of church worship and ministry and instill an awareness of the
multi-cultural and cross-cultural nature of ministry in North American
society. The program shall include a dissertation reflecting a high quality
of research skill.

requirements found in the Fee Structure .
