
Student Guidelines and Requirements
These
guidelines are to be followed each semester with every student, there can be no
exceptions.
The following
requirements apply in order for a student to receive credit for the course:
1. Every student in the class must register for the course with the office.
2. Students wanting to audit the course must also register at the office.
3. No student is allowed to be in the class unless they have notified the office.
4. Where there is no record of the student registering there will be no credit given for the course.
5. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH STUDENT TO INSURE THEY ARE REGISTERED FOR EACH COURSE!
6. ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND EACH SCHEDULED CLASS.
7. Any student who misses three classes will be required to repeat the course to receive credits for that course. Or any OSAP student who does not attend five consecutive days of scheduled classes without valid and documented reason(s) will be deemed inactive and withdrawn and subject to OSAP guidelines.
Every student must be enrolled and attending a minimum of 60% of a full course load being no less than 20 hours and for students with a permanent disability it is 40% of a full course load. Any student who fails to maintain this minimum standard of attendance and fails to attain passing marks (i.e. 60%) in each course will be deemed to be INACTIVE and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities will be notified of the same.
8. Any student who is more than 30 minutes late for any class will be considered to have missed class.
9. Student attendance will become a part of the students marks at the end of the semester as attendance makes up a portion of the overall course mark.
10. If a class is cancelled due to weather or other emergencies every student will be advised as early as possible. The class will be rescheduled and students notified.
11. Course assignments will be given well in advance to allow the student time to complete their work with adequate time allotted for research.
12. Student must maintain the necessary grade point average to receive credit for each course.
13. Students are required to complete the appropriate number of Tutorial hours for the course.
(One Tutorial Hour for each class session of the course every week. This applies to every course).
14. All students must maintain their own time study chart. The time study chart MUST accompany assignments at the end of the semester to receive credits.
15. Assignments are to be typed and double-spaced and presented in a proper binder that will hold the assignment secure and look professional. Assignments can not be e-mailed without the express permission of the individual professor.
16. No product sales or other marketing programs are authorized in the school.
17. No posters or notices are to be posted in the PUBLIC areas of the school, i.e. elevators, lobbies, washrooms etc.
